Ation Studio developed a 360° rebrand for Notts Zine Fest (NZF) in collaboration with Dizzy Ink, creating a bold visual identity that bridges the tactile world of DIY print with contemporary digital culture. The visual language thrives on stark contrast, pairing raw physical textures and handmade aesthetics with vibrant RGB colour and a striking digital presence across web, print and event activations. At the centre of the identity is a communal typeface built from letter submissions by multiple artists, collated into a shared font that reflects the collaborative, grassroots spirit of zine culture. Designed to capture the experimental and community-led nature of the festival, the system celebrates independent publishing and positions NZF as a vibrant platform where creators, audiences and ideas come together through the radical energy of DIY print.
